What is a log tech?

Log Techs, short for Logistics Technicians, are professionals who manage, coordinate, and oversee the movement and storage of goods, materials, or products within a company or organization. They are responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, tracking shipments, and maintaining records related to logistics operations. Log Techs often use specialized software and equipment to monitor supply chains, receive and process shipments, and ensure timely delivery. Their role is crucial in industries such as manufacturing, retail, and distribution, where efficient logistics are essential for business operations.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a log tech?

To thrive as a Log Tech (Logistics Technician), you need a solid understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management, and basic data entry, typically supported by a high school diploma or relevant certification. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanners, and Microsoft Excel is commonly required. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective teamwork set top performers apart in this role. These skills and tools ensure accurate inventory tracking, efficient operations, and timely fulfillment of logistics tasks.

What are common challenges faced by log techs in maintaining accurate inventory records, and how are they addressed?
