Locum Tenens Breast Radiologist in Detroit, MI — Board-certified radiologist with fellowship training in breast imaging sought for an on-site locum tenens radiology job. Join a collaborative breast imaging team focused on screening & diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided procedures in southeast Michigan.

Job Details
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,150 – $7,280
  • Location: On-site in Detroit, MI (48235) — local candidates only
  • Schedule: 2-3 days per week, 2-4 weeks per month
  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Start Date: August 3, 2026
  • Assignment Type: Locum tenens (radiology locum)
  • Patient Encounters Per Shift: 40-50
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Board Certified in Radiology (required)
  • Fellowship training in breast imaging (screening & diagnostic mammography)
  • BLS certification
  • Proficiency in screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI
  • Experience with image-guided procedures (stereotactic/core biopsies, ultrasound-guided biopsies, localizations, aspirations)
  • Strong knowledge of BI-RADS classification and MQSA requirements
  • Excellent patient-facing communication and same-day diagnostic management skills
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience in breast imaging or women's imaging
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, clinic-based radiology environment
  • Familiarity with Change Health PACS (transitioning to Sectra PACS) and Cerner EMR is a plus
Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret screening and diagnostic mammograms (45-55% of daily workload) with accurate BI-RADS categorization
  • Perform and interpret breast ultrasounds and breast MRIs for diagnostic workups
  • Conduct image-guided procedures including biopsies, localizations, and aspirations (15-25% of workload)
  • Manage same-day diagnostic workups and communicate results directly with patients and referring physicians
  • Collaborate closely with technologists, nurses, breast surgeons, and oncology teams to ensure coordinated care
  • Ensure compliance with MQSA and departmental quality standards; deliver high-quality, detail-oriented reporting
