Locum Tenens Opportunity: Invasive Cardiologist Specialty: Invasive Cardiology Assignment Type: Temporary Default Rate Type: Hourly Emergency/Temp Privileges: No Shift Type: Days Shift Description: Coverage Duration: 1-2 weeks per month (Monday-Sunday) Shift Schedule: On-site during the day with night telephonic call and in-person attendance as needed Weekend Requirements: Weekend coverage required On Call Requirements: Weeknight call responsibilities Overview: We are seeking an experienced Invasive Cardiologist to provide temporary coverage over the next 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic practice setting, focusing on cardiac catheterization interventions, emergency calls, and inpatient care. Job Details: Practice Setting: The role involves cardiac cath lab interventions, inpatient coverage, and night call (telephonic). Reason for Coverage: To address coverage gaps within the team. Dates of Coverage: Immediate start for 3-6 months, with potential for extension. Call Ratio: 1:4 call rotation. Average Number of Inpatient Admissions: Approximately 6-12 per day, with support from advanced practice providers (APPs). Facility Details: Trauma Level/Designation: Level One Total Number of Beds: 600 beds in the hospital Number of ICU Beds: 64 total (32 medical, 32 cardiac) Number of Cardiologists in Group: Approximately 30 Presence of Other Cardiologists: Yes, other cardiologists will be present during coverage. Supervision of Providers: No direct supervision required, but collaboration with APPs and fellows is expected. Patient Demographics: Patient Age Range: Adult and geriatric populations Documentation System/EMR: Utilizes Epic for seamless documentation and record-keeping. Requirements: Board Certification: Must be board certified in Invasive Cardiology. ACLS Certification: Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is mandatory. State License: Active licensure in Connecticut is required. Local Providers: Preference for local providers; mileage reimbursement provided. Required Procedures: The ideal candidate should be proficient in a variety of non-invasive and invasive cardiology procedures, including but not limited to: Echocardiography Electrical cardioversions Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) Balloon angioplasty Temporary pacemakers/balloon pump placement Additional Preferred Experience: Familiarity with Impella devices is preferred but not required.
