Signing Exact English (SEE) Interpreter – Elementary School - $45/Hour | 32.5 Hours/Week | Covington, WA

AB Staffing Solutions is seeking a skilled Signing Exact English (SEE) Interpreter for an in-person, school-based opportunity in Covington, Washington for the 2026–2027 school year. This position will support Deaf and Hard of Hearing elementary students by providing consistent and accurate communication access throughout the school day.

Position Details

• Pay: $45.00/hour
• Location: Covington, WA
• Schedule: Days | 32.5 hours per week
• Setting: Elementary School | In-Person
• Start Date: August 24, 2026
• End Date: June 18, 2027
• Caseload: TBD

Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken English into Signing Exact English (SEE)
• Voice interpret SEE into spoken English as needed
• Provide communication access during classroom instruction, meetings, activities, and daily school interactions
• Review lesson plans, instructional materials, and terminology to prepare for interpreting assignments
• Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and related service providers
• Support students' access to the educational environment while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
• Maintain student confidentiality and professional interpreting standards
• Complete required service documentation accurately and on time
• Support accessibility for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students throughout the school day

Qualifications

• Active Washington State DOH Sign Language Interpreter License
• Demonstrated proficiency in Signing Exact English (SEE)
• K–12 or educational interpreting experience preferred
• Knowledge of Deaf and Hard of Hearing education preferred
• Familiarity with Washington OSPI educational interpreter guidelines preferred
• Understanding of accessibility requirements and confidentiality in educational settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
