Job description

Join a fast-paced anesthesia team at a busy Level I Trauma center in Fort Lauderdale, FL. We’re looking for an experienced CRNA to provide full-time locum tenens coverage in a high-volume hospital setting, managing a broad and complex surgical case mix alongside a collaborative group of providers.

What you’ll do

  • Provide anesthesia care across a wide variety of cases, including orthopedics, general surgery, OB/GYN, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, vascular, thoracic, GI, oncology, OMFS, EP, dental, and more.
  • Work primarily independently (about 80% independent cases) with the remaining medically directed/supervised cases.
  • Participate in shared call rotations (including beeper coverage on weekends) and be available for nights and weekend coverage as needed.

Schedule and availability

  • Monday–Friday primary schedule
  • Typical shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
  • Full-time availability required (approximately 4 weeks per month)
  • Flexibility with shift length and location based on staffing needs
  • Providers must be willing to work days, nights, call, and weekends (day-only availability cannot be accommodated)
  • Call frequency: shared CRNA call rotation, roughly one weekend every other month

Practice setting and volume

  • Hospital-based, high-volume anesthesia practice
  • Approximately 1,200 surgical cases per month
  • Adult Level I Trauma center with Pediatric Level II Trauma and Level III NICU
  • EMR: Epic (Epic proficiency test-out available)

Required experience and qualifications

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), board certified
  • Minimum two years of CRNA experience (no new graduates)
  • Active Florida CRNA license
  • Current BLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications
  • Pediatric anesthesia experience required
  • Comfortable providing care for adult Level I trauma, pediatric Level II trauma, Level III NICU patients, trauma cases, cardiothoracic procedures, obstetrics, and other complex surgical cases
  • Experience with trauma, cardiothoracic, obstetric, and complex surgical cases preferred

Additional important details

  • Candidates must reside outside of Florida; Florida-based providers will not be considered
  • A current out-of-state driver’s license is required for presentation
  • Rush credentialing is available; temporary privileges may be possible in as little as 3–4 weeks for providers with a clean file and an active Florida license
