Job description

Under the direction of the Custody Captain, performs skilled work as a locksmith; installs, repairs, and maintains cylinder and bit key locks, and padlocks; opens locks; changes lock combinations; repairs or replaces tumblers, springs, and other parts; keeps records and inventories keys; performs related, door inspection, doorknobs, and door strikes; orders and stores material for the Lock Shop. Maintains security of working areas and work materials; responsible to maintain the safety of incarcerated people and property.
Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receive a three (3) percent reduction in pay in exchange for five (5) hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.
