Title
Maintenance Specialist II- Bronson Commons in Mattawan-Full Time, Variable Shift
Performs emergency, routine, and preventative maintenance in such diverse areas as carpentry, locksmith, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical. Must have working knowledge and experience in more than one of these areas. Employee has the responsibility to maintain and upgrade his/her competencies based on the type. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
  • Must have High school diploma or general education degree (GED), 3-5 years experience and/or HVAC and refrigeration certification preferred. • Demonstrated mechanical skills • Reading, writing and following written and verbal instructions necessary • Understanding and operating diagnostic testing equipment required Work which is constantly and exceptionally tiring mentally and/or visually. Conditions exist more than 90% of the work time. Involves regularly lifting of bulky or moderately heavy weights (i.e., up to 50 pounds), and occasionally assisting with heavier tasks or expending the equivalent effort in pushing, pulling, or otherwise handling material, equipment, and other objects. • Performs corrective maintenance repairs. • Performs preventative maintenance inspections. • Documents work performed. • Achieves educational requirements and cross training. • Research/order supplies as needed.
  • Daily maintenance of equipment, facility repair, cleaning, and filling out required reports.
  • Working with Manager on concerns and regulatory inspections to ensure clean reports and licensing.
  • Prioritize repairs of facilities and equipment on a daily basis for all departments.
  • Evaluate all maintenance agreements and make recommendations for improvements to services or cost saving measures.
  • Supervise all contractors onsite during scheduled work.
  • Working with all departments to ensure life safety standards are met at all times.
  • Working with Manager to prioritize maintenance tasks.
  • Completing basic electrical work, carpentry work, plumbing, refrigeration/HVAC and painting as needed or working with sub-contractors to ensure quality and financial efficiency.
  • Being "on call" when off duty as required by Manager.

Driving your own vehicle on a regularly scheduled basis to perform business on behalf of Bronson is required for this position and will require successfully pass of MVR check after an offer of employment has been made but prior to the employee's start date. Proof of valid auto insurance on that vehicle that will be driven while on duty for Bronson is required. It is the employee's responsibility to submit auto insurance renewals before current coverage expires to their supervisor. It is also the employee's responsibility to update their auto insurance coverage with Bronson if a different vehicle will be driven to perform business on behalf of Bronson.
