Come and be part of our team in the dynamic world of Lockheed Martin Space. We are seeking a Composite Technician to work at our Littleton, CO site. Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.

Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.

Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Key Duties for this position will include: Working from engineering drawings, written work instructions and process specifications to assemble structural and precision mechanical components in a shop environment. Installation and torquing of fasteners, drilling, installation of rivets, adhesive bonding, measurement and shimming interfaces to close tolerances. Aerospace paint, aerospace primer and other aerospace coating application using spray, brush, swab techniques.

Surface prep, using grit blast, hand abrade and power abrasion techniques. Prepreg and wet layup fabrication techniques, including vacuum bag processing, bonding, and oven/autoclave curing. Tooling fabrication from various materials such as aluminum, composites, and wood.

Working with small shop power tools (saws, routers, sanders, and grinders). Machine shop equipment operation (mill, lathe, table saw, band saw, etc.). Assembly of composite structures including setup, bonding, and fastener applications

Operation of measuring devices such as calipers, height gages, micrometers, and torque wrenches. Basic Qualifications Experience working composite manufacturing including layup operations utilizing rosette, insert bonding, final bag application, out time record keeping, composite curing operations including autoclaves. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the proper usage of mechanics hand tools and power tools.

Strong understanding of composites fabrication Knowledge of and experience using ovens and autoclaves for composite cures Desired Skills Aircraft & Powerplant license or similar professional certifications. Experience in aircraft/aerospace assembly and process equipment (oven) programming/operation. Past experience working in an aerospace or space environment.

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $56600.00 - $105000.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics. For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
