Supply Chain Manager, Indirect

Electra

Manassas, VA • On-site

Full-time

Posted 10 days ago

Job description

About Electra

At Electra, we're building the EL9 — a nine-passenger, hybrid-electric aircraft that takes off and lands in 150 feet. Our Ultra Short technology unlocks thousands of new operating locations and enables what we call Direct Aviation: quiet, point-to-point regional travel that gets people from where they are to where they want to go, without the congestion of major airports or the noise of conventional aviation.

A global company, headquartered in Manassas, VA, Electra is backed by Lockheed Martin, Honeywell, and Safran, has filed for FAA Part 23 type certification, and carries 2,000+ intent to purchase from operators worldwide. We're a team of ~100 people moving fast toward first EL9 test flights in 2027 and certification by late 2029 or 2030. Every hire matters at this stage — and this role is no exception.

The Role

As our Supply Chain Manager, Indirect, you'll own sourcing and supplier management across all non-production spend categories that keep Electra running - facilities, MRO, capital equipment, IT hardware/software, professional and engineering services, travel, marketing, and general corporate procurement. That means building sourcing strategy and competitive bid processes, negotiating and executing contracts, and managing ongoing supplier performance across a wide and fast-changing set of categories.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, facilities, IT, and program leadership. You'll serve as the primary point of contact between internal stakeholders and indirect suppliers, own source selection and negotiation activities across categories, and build the processes and governance needed to scale indirect spend management as the program matures.

What You'll Do

  • Build the Indirect Supply Chain function from scratch as its founding leader - establishing foundational processes, tools, and governance, and defining team structure, hiring plans, and long-term category strategy as the program scales
  • Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing team to support Electra's growth
  • Own and deliver the RFI/RFP and contract process for indirect categories - including facilities and MRO, capital equipment, IT hardware/software and SaaS, professional and engineering services, travel, and marketing/corporate spend - to hit target costs and service levels
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders (Facilities, IT, Engineering, Finance, HR, and Program leadership) and indirect suppliers throughout the sourcing and contract lifecycle
  • Build and maintain a category management strategy across indirect spend, prioritizing based on spend, risk, and business criticality
  • Lead supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), SOWs, and license agreements
  • Conduct supplier assessments and ongoing performance reviews across indirect categories
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to manage supplier quality, service levels, and issue resolution
  • Identify cost savings, consolidation, and risk mitigation opportunities across indirect suppliers and spend categories
  • Establish and manage purchasing policies, approval workflows, and preferred supplier lists for indirect spend
  • Own and report on indirect spend visibility, budget tracking, and savings targets
  • Manage supplier On Time Delivery (OTD) and service-level performance as programs scale

What You Bring

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years of supply chain, procurement, or sourcing experience, with meaningful exposure to indirect categories (facilities, IT, professional services, MRO, or corporate spend)
  • Demonstrated results in contract negotiations and supplier performance management across multiple, varied categories
  • Ability to author and review statements of work (SOW), RFIs, RFPs, and supplier commercial and technical proposals
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats
  • Strong collaboration, organizational, and time management skills
  • Effective communicator across all levels of an organization - internally and externally
  • Entrepreneurial ownership mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and doing whatever it takes to achieve program goals
  • Self-motivated and accountable - able to thrive independently or as part of a geographically distributed team
  • US Person (Citizen or Permanent Resident) required

Bonus Points

  • Experience standing up indirect procurement processes and category strategy at a startup or fast-growing company
  • Experience with facilities and capital equipment sourcing in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Program leadership experience

This range reflects the anticipated hiring range across all eligible locations; actual compensation is determined based on your relevant experience, skills, and geographic location. Total compensation includes performance bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Compensation Range
$135,000—$155,000 USD

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance; STD, LTD, and life insurance
  • Generous PTO, sick leave, and company holidays
  • Paid winter break
  • 401(k) with immediate vesting
  • Free catered lunches, coffee, snacks, and drinks at our Manassas headquarters
  • Free on-site parking
