Lockheed Martin Space has an immediate opportunity for an entry-level System Safety Engineer at our Denver, Colorado facility. You will use your Engineering Knowledge to analyze hardware and software, establish and maintain system safety requirements in support of mission results. You will support the Systems Engineering team throughout the lifecycle of the system. You will support detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies, and support the translation of customer requirements into hardware and software requirements. You will support Systems Engineering during System Integration and will support verification/validation of system requirements. As our System Safety Engineer, your responsibilities will also include the following tasks:
Develop and/or update Preliminary Hazard List (PHL), Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHAs), System Hazard Analyses (SHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR)
Prepare presentations and participate in Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings
Develop and/or update System Safety documents to support Customer, Range Safety, and contractual requirements
Review and provide input to test procedures for adherence to System Safety requirements
Coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing
Development and maintenance of a Hazard Tracking System (HTS) used to document real and potential hazards, their assessments, and their respective mitigation's.
