US Mail Transfer Box Technician - New York, NY - (full-time project)

$25 - $26 / hour

Multiple positions available!

In addition, this position is eligible for $10 a month paid for monthly cellular phone allowance; mileage reimbursement if using own vehicle

Hours: required to work up to 40 hours a week between 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday

BASIC FUNCTION:

This is a full-time project estimated to last around six months. The primary responsibility of this role is to replace and install USPS mail transfer boxes in the city of New York. This position requires an individual or team of two (based on location) to efficiently process USPS mail transfer box installations and/or /replacements, with an expected 2-person team minimum output of ten transfer boxes per day. Daily local travel in the greater New York area required. Training will be provided.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installation and Replacement: Perform the installation and replacement of USPS mail transfer boxes, ensuring all installations meet required standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of each installation, including time taken, any issues encountered, and the status of each mail box.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in managing necessary administrative tasks, including documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
  • Travel Coordination: Efficiently plan daily routes to minimize travel time between installation sites.
  • Equipment Handling: Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and ready for use at each installation site.
  • Communication: Coordinate with team members and location/site representatives to ensure smooth and timely completion of projects.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Mechanical Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools to install and maintain USPS mail transfer boxes.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and address mechanical requirements for USPS mail box installations.
  • Able to handle heavy US mail transfer boxes

  • Valid Driver’s license required, including access to a vehicle as position requires traveling

  • Pull/push 75lbs
  • Bend and stoop, walk and stand for long periods of time
