Job description

Summary: Performs repairs and maintenance to plant facilities and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Conducts daily work activities in a safe and professional manner, following company policy.
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas.
  • Schedules, plans and completes work requests for all areas assigned.
  • Performs work on preventative maintenance programs as scheduled.
  • Removes snow and cares for grounds as needed throughout all seasons of the year.
  • Order and maintain inventory for supplies and specific parts. Pick up items off site as needed.
  • Repairs and maintains building and equipment (Plumbing, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Welding, Metal Cutting/Brazing, Minor Electrical, Threading Machine, Assembly, Installation, Removal and Disposal).
  • Maintains Tractors, Sweepers, and assigned maintenance vehicle.
  • Operates Forklift, Sweeper, Company Truck, and Lawn/Snow Removal Tractors.
  • Works flexible hours (Example: Comes in early to remove snow, etc).
  • Provides training and backup for Custodian and Production Equipment Maintenance positions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and ability to operate: forklift, company truck, sweeper/scrubber, tractor & related equipment, plasma cutter, cutting/brazing torch, welder, machine shop equipment, and powered hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Two-year Technical Degree preferably Industrial Maintenance program or other skilled trade.
  • Three to five years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Able to lift up to 45 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Able to work independently throughout the shift to complete scheduled work.
  • Driver's License and safe driving record.
  • Work at heights up to 60 feet above ground and depths of 10 feet below ground.
  • Flexible work hours as needed.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and temperatures, both hot and cold.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrates safe work practices.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics.
  • Assures proper lock out/ tag out and performs lock out/tag out when necessary.
  • Work with and take direction from Company President, Vice-President, Operations Manager, and Production Managers.
  • Maintain productive working relationships and attitude toward others while on the job.
