Job description

Summary

Under the leadership of the Facilities Coordinator, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining safe and secure buildings and grounds to ensure successful service delivery.  Responsible for providing on-going maintenance, repairs and consult to ensure safe facilities and operative equipment.  The Maintenance Technician will work together as part of the facilities team providing exceptional customer service to agency staff and customers.

*Essential Duties and Responsibilities *include the following:

SAFETY

Complete scheduled maintenance, repair for the following, document, and maintain Facility Dude: Fire equipment, i.e. alarms, extinguishers, etc., maintain sprinkler systems in all facilities, Emergency lights, AED Units, Eye Wash Systems

Assist in ensuring the MSDS manual is always current.

Complete timely snow/ice removal services at facilities.

MECHANICAL

Maintain HVAC units in all facilities; complete scheduled PM document and maintain Facility Dude.

Maintain plumbing systems in all facilities; document and maintain Facility Dude.

Maintain electrical systems in all facilities; document and maintain Facility Dude.

Collaborate with outside vendors when directed; report results to coordinator.

SECURITY

Assist in the proper maintenance and operation of the agency surveillance system.

Complete routine equipment checks, document and report results to coordinator.

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE SUPPORT/BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS

Actively use and maintain our Facility Dude Software.

Complete facility improvement projects as assigned.  Report on progress and completions to coordinator.

PROVIDE ON-GOING MAINTENANCE, REPAIRS AND CONSULT TO ENSURE SAFE FACILITIES AND OPERATIVE EQUIPMENT

Complete assigned tasks to ensure safe, operative equipment at all facilities.  Report results to coordinator and document results in maintenance logs, Weekly Action Plan Spreadsheets, meeting minutes or other reports.

Complete requested repairs and maintain PM schedule for vehicle fleet.

Complete requested repairs, maintain PM schedule, and complete Lock Out/Tag Out as required for material handling fleet.

Complete requested repairs, maintain PM schedule, and complete Lock Out/Tag Out as required for production related equipment.

Complete assigned consult, design and construction tasks for specific equipment/line adaptations, other special projects to advance vocational opportunities for consumers

Participate in weekly meetings with Facilities Team (Monday AM) to discuss department goals, progress, issues/concerns, etc.  Follow through on assigned tasks utilizing the Weekly Action Plan Spreadsheet.  Report results to coordinator for documents.

Other

Maintain good driving record.

Perform any miscellaneous duties assigned.

*Education and/or Experience *                                                

Technician 2 requires 5 - 7 years of direct work experience with production and manufacturing equipment

Technician 3 requires more than 7 years of direct work experience with production and manufacturing equipment.

Master Technician requires at least 7 years of work experience with production and manufacturing equipment along with experience working on automated equipment and robots.

*Language Skills *                                   

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

*Mathematical Skills *                                                    

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

*Reasoning Ability *                                            

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

*Computer Skills *                                               

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Windows  software

Forklift Mechanic Certification desirable

Other Qualifications

Valid Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.

Must be able to travel 15% of the time.
