Job description

Who we are
With its A.I.-powered robotic technology platform, Symbotic is changing the way consumer goods move through the supply chain. Intelligent software orchestrates advanced robots in a high-density, end-to-end system - reinventing warehouse automation for increased efficiency, speed and flexibility.
What we need
As a Sr. Instructional Designer, you will design and deliver scalable, performance-driven customer learning programs in a fast-moving robotics environment. You will excel at extracting complex knowledge from technical subject matter experts, structuring it into cohesive learning architectures, and building innovative learning solutions that drive measurable outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to influence learning strategy at scale and, over time, help shape or build a high-performing learning design function.
If you've designed enablement programs in SaaS, robotics, AI, or other rapidly evolving technical environments - and you actively leverage AI to accelerate and elevate your instructional design workflows - this role is built for you. This position will report to the Director, Field Training.
What we do
The Field Learning COE is a part of the Human Resource organization which defines and scales the learning ecosystem that powers customer and field enablement. By integrating curriculum architecture, content development, and field feedback loops, it ensures training is aligned, consistent, and directly tied to performance and business impact.
What you'll do
  • Lead structured knowledge extraction sessions with engineers, product leaders, and field experts to uncover tacit expertise, decision logic, and operational nuance.
  • Translate complex robotics and AI-driven systems into performance-based, persona-specific learning journeys.
  • Support scalable, modular learning ecosystems spanning eLearning, ILT, certification programs, and performance support.
  • Design learning solutions that support revenue-generating training programs and global customer enablement.
  • Integrate AI into your workflow (content synthesis, prototyping, assessment generation, localization, iteration) to increase speed while maintaining an exceptional quality bar.
  • Use learning analytics and performance data to drive continuous improvement and measurable impact.
  • Partner cross-functionally across Product, Customer Success, Marketing, and Engineering to align learning with business goals.
  • Contribute to LMS strategy and optimization (Docebo preferred; Workday Learning a plus).

What you'll need
  • Bachelors Degree required, Instructional Design or Human Resources preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in curriculum design
  • Designed enablement programs in SaaS, robotics, AI, or other rapidly evolving technical environments
  • Exceptional attention to detail, commitment to "learner-centric" design, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder hierarchies
  • Project Management, organizational skills, meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and collaboration with high level leadership within HR
  • Hybrid role based in Wilmington, MA. (3 days a week)

Our Environment
  • Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
