Job description

CSG Talent is supporting a North American copper development company as it advances a major project through PFS. This is a project development position rather than a traditional plant operations role with the successful candidate responsible for managing the metallurgical testwork programme underpinning the PFS, coordinating external laboratories, consultants, engineering contractors and internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities Manage metallurgical testwork programmes from scope development through execution, interpretation and reporting. Coordinate external laboratories, consultants and engineering contractors. Develop and manage scopes, schedules, budgets, sample requirements and shipments. Monitor laboratory progress, test quality and compliance with approved procedures. Review test methodologies, sample handling and QA/QC protocols. Identify programme risks, testing gaps and areas requiring further investigation. Translate testwork results into clear technical recommendations and management updates. Maintain action plans and ensure project milestones are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget. Visit domestic and international laboratories to review progress and troubleshoot technical issues. Candidate profile Degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Geology or a related discipline. 8 years+ of relevant project, study or process development experience. Demonstrable experience managing metallurgical testwork, project studies or external technical programmes. Strong project management capability covering scopes, budgets, schedules, risks and multiple stakeholders. Experience supporting PFS, FS or other project-development studies is strongly preferred. Practical understanding of laboratory procedures, testwork quality and technical reporting. Copper heap-leach, column-testing or SX/EW experience would be advantageous but is not essential. MUST have US work authorization or eligibility for TN1 visa. Candidates whose experience is limited to routine plant or production metallurgy will not be suitable unless they have also held significant responsibility for project studies, testwork programmes or capital project development.
