Job Summary:

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Director of Global Steel & Strategic Development to lead our global steel sourcing strategy and drive strategic initiatives that support our growth in the renewable solar energy and advanced manufacturing sectors. This role will be instrumental in shaping our global steel procurement footprint, developing strategic supplier partnerships, and aligning sourcing strategies with long-term business objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Global Steel Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive global steel sourcing strategy that ensures cost competitiveness, supply security, and alignment with sustainability goals.

  • Supplier Development: Build and manage strategic relationships with global steel producers, mills, and service centers to ensure long-term supply continuity and innovation.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor global steel markets, trade policies, tariffs, and geopolitical risks to inform sourcing decisions and mitigate supply chain disruptions.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with engineering, operations, finance, and ESG teams to align sourcing strategies with product development, manufacturing needs, and sustainability targets.

  • Strategic Projects: Lead cross-functional initiatives including vertical integration assessments, joint ventures, and localization strategies in key markets.

  • Cost Optimization: Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic negotiations, value engineering, and total cost of ownership analysis.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in global sourcing, supply chain, or strategic development, with a strong focus on steel or metals procurement.

  • Deep understanding of global steel markets, including pricing dynamics, trade flows, and supplier ecosystems.

  • Experience in the renewable energy, solar, or industrial manufacturing sectors strongly preferred.

  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-border sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations.
