CDL-A Yard Jockey โ€“ Local Position | Lafayette, IN

Home Daily | Paid Hourly + Overtime | Consistent Schedule

We are currently hiring CDL-A drivers for a local Yard Jockey position in Lafayette, Indiana. This is a great opportunity for drivers looking for steady local work, home daily time, and consistent hourly pay with overtime available.

Pay & Bonuses
  • $27 per hour โ€“ all shifts
  • Overtime after 40 hours paid at $41 per hour
  • Average weekly pay: $1,080 โ€“ $1,485
  • Average annual pay: $56,000 โ€“ $77,000
Bonuses
  • $500 New Hire Transition Bonus paid on second paycheck
  • $3,000 Sign-On Bonus:
    • $1,000 on second paycheck
    • $1,000 at 60 days
    • $1,000 at 120 days
Schedule
  • Monday โ€“ Friday
  • Must be available to work every other weekend
  • Starting around 40 hours weekly, with potential to move into 50+ hours
Shift Availability
  • 1st Shift: 6:30 AM โ€“ 2:30 PM (starting 5/18)

  • Local yard moves only โ€“ no over-the-road driving
  • Moving CAT generators and engines between facilities
  • Average of 8 engine moves per day
  • Approximately 250 yards between locations
  • Drivers may transport up to 2 engines at a time
  • Load securement with straps
  • Yard Hostler, Kenworth Day Cab, Conestoga/Flatbed equipment
