This role is located in Orlando, FL at A Budget Tree Service.

Position Summary:
The Plant Health Care (PHC) Specialist is responsible for monitoring, diagnosing, and treating plant health issues using environmentally responsible practices. This role involves applying fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments to trees, shrubs, and lawns to promote their health and vitality.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform plant health assessments and diagnose pest, disease, and nutrient deficiencies.
  • Apply appropriate treatments, including fertilizers, pesticides, and soil amendments, in accordance with safety regulations and best practices.
  • Use integrated pest management (IPM) strategies to minimize environmental impact.
  • Operate and maintain spray equipment, injection tools, and other application machinery.
  • Provide customer education on plant health care best practices and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatments, observations, and client interactions.
  • Follow all safety procedures and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Assist with general tree care and landscaping tasks as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in horticulture, arboriculture, forestry, or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in plant health care, landscaping, or tree care preferred.
  • Pesticide applicator's license or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
  • Strong knowledge of plant health issues, pest identification, and treatment methods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
