Job description

Job Functions:

  • Assist in the care of the surgical patient. Handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
  • He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
  • He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. Follows instructions of Physicians and RN closely, adhering to established hospital policies related to the Operating Room.
  • Maintains a Safe Environment: Practices Standard Precautions at all times.
  • Maintains a safe environment in accordance with hospital polices and regulatory agencies.
Skills;
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 35lbs.
  • Must be able to tolerate long periods of sitting, standing and /or walking.
  • Certified Surgical Technician required.
Education:
  • High School Graduate or GED. Graduate from an accredited program.
