Job description

We are seeking a qualified Senior Project Manager to help our clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Owner’s Engineer and/or Advisor.

The role requires significant client interaction from pre‑positioning through project completion and strong verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with utility‑scale power generation systems, including simple cycle and combined cycle plants.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.
  • Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
  • Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluate risks associated with the services being offered.
  • Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completing project activities.
  • Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client so that the project work plan and the client’s expectations on deliverables are understood and aligned. Monitor project deliverables for quality, completeness, and conformance to the client’s expectations.
  • Proactively monitor and maintain the project budget and schedule. Develop appropriate recovery plans in the event of potential shortfalls.
  • Monitor the contracted scope of work and identify scope changes.
  • Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and project consulting issues.
  • Guide design or consulting work in the manager’s area of engineering expertise.
  • Routinely report project progress to the local and regional accounting and operations team.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a combination of degree and relevant project experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant power generation project experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience designing or managing simple cycle and combined cycle EPC projects as owner, owner’s engineer, OEM, or EPC contractor.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Demonstrated business development skills.
  • Good communication, leadership, planning, and mentoring skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe, and other relevant software.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams and excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
