Hawkins Parnell & Young LLP has an opening in our San Diego office for an Associate Attorney with 0-6 years of experience. At HPY, a successful candidate will enjoy learning all stages of trial preparation and trial dynamics from start to finish and will have the opportunity to work with various teams of experienced attorneys.

HPY represents a variety of clients from global corporations to small local businesses and individual clients in high-risk litigation and business disputes across the country and U.S. Territories. The successful candidate will be a part of a national team of 250+ lawyers and professional staff spread across 14 offices located in Atlanta, Austin, Charleston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Napa, New York, St. Louis, and San Francisco.

HPY offers a competitive salary complemented by a full, comprehensive benefits package including Medical Insurance, Vision Plan, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, 401k, Short- and Long-Term Disability and Profit Sharing. Expected compensation for this position ranges from $130,000 to $170,000 annually, dependent upon experience.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Defense litigation
  • Trial preparation including strategy discussion, discovery, records review, client interview and witness preparation
  • Research into complex litigation areas
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Prepare and argue motions
  • Active California Bar license required; post-bar candidates awaiting exam results encouraged to apply.
