Job description

POSITION: Community Supervision Officer (Adult Probation Officer)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise felony and misdemeanor cases Direct and/or Transfer status according to TDCJ-CJAD Standards and Rockwall CSCD Policies.
  • Conduct Pre-sentence Investigation Reports for the local courts.
  • Represent the department in dealing with local, state, and federal agencies in conjunction with casework.
  • Possess excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the Director of the department.
EDUCATION:
  • Applicants must have acquired a Bachelor's Degree conferred by an accredited institution of higher education.
EXPERIENCE:
• Past or current employment as a community supervision officer or case management related field is a plus but not mandatory.
SPECIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to work well as a team player.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, county officials, state, municipal, civic organizations and agencies.
  • Ability to pass TDCJ-CJAD CSO Certification.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, criminal background check, and driving record check.

SALARY:
  • Minimum starting salary $55,000.00 or commensurate with experience.
