Job description

Mascot (Part-Time)
Department: Entertainment & Events
Direct Supervisor: Director, Entertainment
Status: Part-time / Hourly
Summary:
The Miami Dolphins are seeking a highly motivated, energetic and talented individual to serve as the mascot, T.D., for the team in a backup/part-time capacity. T.D. plays a vital role in promoting the Miami Dolphins at all home games and events in the South Florida area. The ideal candidate has experience performing as a mascot, possesses excellent non-verbal communication skills, is athletically and physically fit, and has a creative and humorous personality.
Location:
  • This is a part-time/hourly position based on site at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL with travel required for community events and appearances throughout South Florida.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform as mascot at Miami Dolphins season ticket member, partnership and community events/programs, as requested by the Organization (in season and out of season)
  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Provide a high level of customer service to all Miami Dolphins fans
  • Engage with guests while in costume, display enthusiasm and high energy always to elevate the experience
  • Preserve the identity of the mascot without deviating from established character including body language/mannerisms, attitude, and fan interaction
  • Represent the Miami Dolphins at a wide range of club sponsored community outreach and partner events
  • Perform at private parties, parades, festivals, grand openings, etc. as needed (includes nights, both weekdays and weekends, and holidays)
  • Consistently execute care and maintenance to ensure costume is always in operational, guest-ready, condition

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a mascot at the collegiate level or with a professional sports team preferred
  • Dance, entertainment or tumbling experience preferred but not required
  • Must be at least 6' tall
  • Candidate must be in good health, above average physical shape and conditioning due to the severe heat and humidity conditions in South Florida
  • Candidate must be comfortable working in a costume for long periods of time
  • Must have own vehicle and be willing to travel
  • Positive, energetic, and creative personality
  • Ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure
  • Reliable, punctual, and courteous
  • Flexible schedule for nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Comfortable performing in front of large crowds
  • Knowledge of the game of football
