Job Title: BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN (BMET)

Location: On-Site, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio

Employment: Full Time

What you will be doing:

We are seeking a dedicated BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN (BMET) to provide support to the 711th Human Performance Wing Commander's Support Staff (711 HPW/CSS) Medical Readiness which is responsible for the management and oversight of the 711 HPW War Reserve Material (WRM) Projects. The BMET will maintain and repair medical equipment within 711 HPW/CSS Medical Readiness. These services include preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance/repair, installation/de-installation, safety and compliance, documentation and reporting. The tasks require a combination of sedentary duties and light to moderate physical effort, including walking, standing, reaching, bending, and lifting. The tasks are performed indoors/outdoors and involve exposure to everyday risks, as well as occasional work with live electrical wires and transformers. The BMET will utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel/composite toed boots, and safety procedures to mitigate the risk of shock, burns, or injury.

You Must Have:

  • Must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship
  • Must be able to pass a background screening
  • Possess, at minimum, an associate's degree in biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering.
  • Possess at least two years of biomedical equipment technician experience, including demonstrated experience in the application of electronic principles to diagnose functional operation failures, component- level troubleshooting, and system configuration management.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying a wide range of specialized methods, principles, and techniques of electronics and complex medical system failures, recovery of systems, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to include hardware and software components.
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring compliance with including, but not limited to, the DoD/DoW, The Joint Commission, AAAHC, CAP, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and FDA regulations, procedures, and practices as it applies to biomedical equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of technical data such as drawings, schematics, blueprints, and specifications of complete electronic systems; in analyzing problems in integrated/interfacing systems involving numerous complex circuits; and in using complex electronic and electromechanical test and measuring equipment using integrated test functions for different purposes.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving technical and performance issues for highly complex electronic systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in signal tracing and inter-system logic analysis across integrated electronic platforms.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in professional oral and written communication including interpersonal skills necessary to represent the organization professionally and maintain collaborative working relationships.
  • Possess a valid U.S. driver's license to obtain authorization to operate a Government vehicle to service medical equipment in other buildings.
  • Physical stamina and strength required to handle items up to 51 pounds frequently and heavier loads occasionally, ensuring all movement of equipment adheres to NIOSH lifting equations and safety standards.
  • Ability to pass a color vision test.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Cloud based suite of productivity apps, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat programs.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of applicable Air Force and professional standards.
