Embrace the Science of Care: Join a Dynamic Clinical Team in a Thriving Kansas City Community
Overview
Imagine infusing every sample with the spirit of inquiry and dedication-a commitment to enhancing patient lives with each test you conduct. We are on the lookout for a passionate Clinical Laboratory Technician ready to embark on an enriching journey at a bustling community hospital nestled near the enchanting heart of Kansas City. In this full-time, first-shift position, you will be an integral part of delivering vital diagnostic results that influence patient care daily. Join us and experience a workplace that not only cultivates your skills but also pays attention to your well-being with an appealing rewards package.
Description - Your Role Awaits
  • Conduct both routine and specialized clinical lab tests-ranging from chemistry and hematology to immunology and beyond-following established protocols meticulously.
  • Assess results meticulously, address discrepancies, and perform routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory instruments.
  • Participate in specimen collection and prepare samples as required for testing.
  • Meticulously document all laboratory procedures, guide new team members or students, and uphold exceptional lab quality standards.
  • Foster a clean and safe laboratory environment while adhering to regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
Education Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science or a closely related allied health discipline, accompanied by preparation for ASCP or AMT certification.
Certification Expectations
  • Obtain ASCP or AMT Board of Certification in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) within a year of joining our team.
  • Keep your certification current throughout your employment.
Skills We Value
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills foster teamwork and collaborative interactions with healthcare providers.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and problem-solving abilities in dynamic or high-pressure settings.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and unwavering attention to detail are crucial, particularly in quality control and documentation standards.
What We Offer You

  • A comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance-market-competitive to support your health.
  • Generous time-off program beginning on your first day and vacation/holiday benefits based on prior experience.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional advancement.
  • A robust total rewards ecosystem focused on your overall wellness and personal growth.

Be a Key Player in Transforming Lives
In this role, your skills empower doctors, directly influencing the lives of patients. The meticulous work you perform can confirm infections, guide treatment decisions, and even uncover underlying health issues before they surface. Precision in your testing ensures that healthcare professionals and patients can rely on your expertise day after day.
A Collaborative Culture Awaits
Your new position isn't just a job; it's a thriving community of dedicated professionals committed to excellence. We foster a culture where continuous improvement is paramount. Participate in seasonal in-lab meetings, competency reviews, and initiatives aimed at bettering lab processes. Here, your voice will be valued-you'll have the opportunity to join committees, suggest improvements, and mentor the next wave of lab technicians.
A Vibrant Kansas City Experience
Visualize a dynamic city offering a rich tapestry of culture, a vibrant music scene, and world-class cuisine. Kansas City boasts beautiful parks, where you might find yourself unwinding with a picnic or strolling among the lakes. On your days off, you could explore local farmers' markets brimming with fresh produce or enjoy an outdoor concert under the stars. Thanks to great community vibes, friendly neighbors form an interconnected neighborhood where bonds grow over shared experiences and vibrant local events.
Your weekends might include a culinary experience at a renowned barbecue joint, a visit to art galleries showcasing local talent, or simply enjoying the buzz of downtown bustling with activity. Housing options are diverse and affordable, so you can settle comfortably into this community, allowing you to allocate your earnings toward weekend adventures, cultural explorations, and more.
