Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
• Ensure a safe and harassment and discrimination free work environment by following and enforcing all safety rules and procedures, all company policies, applicable laws, and PrecisionValues
• Provide cultural stewardship
• Regular repair and preventative maintenance to Precision's car haul fleet, including welding fabrication of car haul body and structure, repair of lights, electrical system, air system, tires, brakes, and hydraulic system
• Maintain driver vehicle inspection reports
• Ensure DOT compliance
• Perform maintenance at proper service intervals
• Complete all other duties as required for safe, efficient, effective, and compliant operations as assigned by manager
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proven strong foundation and knowledge of preventative maintenance schedules for Freightliner and Volvo, diesel engines, hydraulics, air systems, and air brakes
• Welding and fabrication experience required
• Hydraulic experience is required
• Previous experience at another car haul company is required
• Freightliner and/or Volvo factory training is preferred
• Travel requirements up to 25%
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license
• Must pass driver eligibility requirements
• Ability to pass a drug screen
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
• The employee is required to converse and listen in office and industrial settings (indoor &outdoor; noise level is high at times).
• The employee is required to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• The employee will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• The employee is required to lift and carry up to 100 pounds unassisted.
• The employee is frequently required to remain stationary for extended periods (4-8 hours).
• The employee is occasionally required to travel by car or air.
• The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, ascend or descend ladders safely at heights of 10 feet or more, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and adjust focus
