Job Summary:

Reporting to the Fleet and Logistics Superintendent, the Dump Truck / Tag-Along Driver is responsible for safely operating dump trucks and transporting heavy equipment using tag-along trailers to and from job sites across the Greater Toronto Area. This role plays a key part in supporting heavy civil construction operations by ensuring timely and safe delivery of materials and equipment while complying with all regulatory and safety requirements.


Location:Fresh way Drive, Concord.This role will require regular visits toJob Sites located across the Greater Toronto Area.

Hours of Operations:5:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST)

Hourly wage rate: $34/hour

This position will transition to a unionized role, LOCAL 230 after 3 months of employment


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operate dump trucks to transport aggregates, soil, asphalt, and other construction materials to various job sites across the GTA
  • Safely load, secure, transport, and unload construction equipment using tag-along trailers
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers
  • Ensure proper load securement in accordance with MTO and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and delivery documentation
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and site personnel
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and Ontario traffic laws
  • Assist with general labour duties on-site as required
  • Report mechanical issues, incidents, or safety concerns promptly
  • Maintain cleanliness and perform basic upkeep of assigned equipment
  • Other duties as assigned.

Our ideal candidate:

  • Valid Class AZ driver's license
  • Clean driver's abstract and CVOR record
  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating dump trucks and hauling equipment
  • Proven experience with tag-along trailers and load securement
  • Familiarity with GTA routes, construction sites, and traffic conditions
  • Knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment (e.g., skid steer, mini excavator) is an asset
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, extended hours, and weekends as required
  • Ability to get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals
