River Road Freight is seeking full-time motivated CDL-A drivers at Romeoville, IL.


We are a small local business with a personal, supportive and respectful culture BUT competitive pay and the benefits of a large company.

We operate semis only, within a 1,000 mile per round-trip, for a national customer. Work predictable Shifts and Drop and Hook freight! Drive brand new Freightliners, Volvo and International sleeper cabins equipped with microwave, refrigerator and world class technology and you will be back home every other day!

This is a full-time W-2 position with paid time off (minimum 2 weeks PTO yearly), 401(k), health, dental and vision insurance, and childcare benefits.

What youll need:

  • Have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL-A) and a minimum of 6 months of experience operating a Class A tractor-trailer, semi-truck, or 53-foot trailer. Recent CDL-A graduates without the required experience do not qualify.
  • Be 21 years of age or older,
  • Clean driving record and successful completion of DOT physical, background check, and pre-employment drug test,
  • No history of CDL suspension, revocation, or failed/refused drug or alcohol tests in the last 5 years (this includes DWIs, DUIs and BACs),
  • Match Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) requirements imposed by the DOT & have a positive Drive-A-Check (DAC) Report,
  • Be able to learn and effectively use GPS, handheld technology, and smartphone applications,
  • Fluent in English for written and spoken effective communication,
  • Flexibility with work schedule (Day/Evening/Night shifts/Weekends).
