Job Description:
Technical Project Manager - Lending/Loan
Location: Atlanta, Georgia or Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of a wealth management lending platform. In this role, you will support the technical delivery team, including architects, developers, and analysts, while ensuring alignment with business stakeholders across lending, risk, compliance, finance, and legal departments. The project will deliver a new securities-backed lending system, automate business rules, and replace the existing collateral monitoring system.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of lending platform features, including API integrations, automated underwriting workflows, and third-party vendor tools.
  • Coordinate daily with software engineers, product managers, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and delivery compliance teams to track progress against the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Translate complex business rules and regulatory requirements into actionable technical specifications for development teams and explain technical trade-offs to stakeholders.
  • Identify technical bottlenecks, manage program dependencies, and build mitigation plans for project risks.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe), coordinate with product owners to maintain backlogs, and track delivery metrics using tools like Rally, Jira, or Azure DevOps.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Experience: 10+ years of technical project management experience delivering software solutions within the FinTech, banking, or financial services (BFSI) sectors, specifically involving loan origination systems (LOS) or lending platforms.
Technical Skills: A solid understanding of modern software architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and API integrations is required. Candidates must also have hands-on experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and associated tracking tools.
Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulations, lending operations, data security standards, and risk management practices is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in a related field or 15+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, CSM (Certified ScrumMaster), or PMI-ACP.
  • Prior experience migrating legacy lending systems to cloud-native architectures.
