Description

The Mortgage Loan Processor is primarily responsible for processing mortgage loans. This includes setting up and processing all types of mortgage loans, maintaining and transferring loans between computer systems, ordering required documents, and printing required loan documents. Review each loan document for completeness and accuracy.  


Excellent customer service in person, by phone, and through mail

Knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA and Conventional underwriting guidelines and loan process

Ability to review AUS findings and guidelines prior to loan submission to confirm that application fits loan program applied for

Understand how to properly send disclosures to clients to be in compliance

Order needed services and verifications

Provide status updates to loan officer, applicant, Realtor, and title company

Maintains record of all loans in process and reviews status with originator regularly

Clear outstanding conditions and schedule loan for closing

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Work with minimal supervision and follow established procedures 

Assists, when needed, with reports and procedures

Other projects and/ or duties as assigned

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalency

Minimum 5 years of experience in mortgage processing

Ability to read, write and communicate at a level consistent with the requirements of the position

Ability to present products and service information to members

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively, orally and in writing with borrowers, co-workers, and managers

Must possess a basic understanding of mortgage underwriting guidelines and credit analysis

Must have a working knowledge of federal lending regulations and RESPA requirement

Detail oriented with the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as percentages, ratios and fractions

Working knowledge of Point preferred

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with co-workers in a team-environment

Ability to define and resolve problems

Ability to work effectively under strict time constraints, deadlines, and the flexibility to adapt to peak periods of heavy workload
