A Day in the Life
The Loan Processor is responsible for managing a full loan pipeline from initial review through submission to Underwriting, ensuring all documentation meets investor and regulatory guidelines. This role requires effective and timely communication with internal partners and external stakeholders, proactive pipeline management, and accurate maintenance of loan data within the document management system. The Loan Processor collaborates closely with the Loan Processing Manager to prioritize workflow, stay current on loan program requirements, and consistently meet monthly funding goals while maintaining quality, compliance, and service-level expectations. Some travel may be required.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Review loan files to identify and obtain all required documentation in accordance with investor and regulatory guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with internal partners (Loan Consultants, Processing Managers) and external parties (borrowers and third-party vendors), maintaining timely responses-generally within two hours.
  • Leverage pipeline and production reports to proactively manage loans and prioritize daily workload.
  • Maintain proficiency in the document management system, ensuring all loan data and documentation are accurate, complete, and up to date.
  • Meet weekly with the Loan Processing Manager to review loan status, resolve issues, and align workflow priorities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of loan programs, documentation requirements, and applicable guidelines.
  • Request, organize, and process loan documentation, independently submitting complete files to Underwriting on a monthly basis.
  • Effectively manage a full loan pipeline month over month while meeting quality and compliance standards.
  • Consistently achieve monthly funding targets based on assigned pipeline volume and prevailing market conditions.
Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise
  • Minimum of five (5) years of mortgage loan processing experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience with FHA and VA loan products required.
  • Proficiency with Automated Underwriting Systems, including Desktop Underwriter (DU), required.
  • Purchase loan processing experience strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Compensation Range
The base salary range for this full-time position is $25.00 - $33.00 an hour.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Physical Requirements
This is a stationary position that requires frequent sitting (approximately 95%), repetitive wrist motions, grasping, speaking, listening, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. It also may require occasional standing, lifting, carrying of 20lbs or less, walking, kneeling, bending/stooping, twisting, pulling/pushing, and reaching above the shoulder. Employees in this position must be physically able to efficiently perform the essential functions of the position.
