Central Loan Processor
Department: Loan Processing
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Commercial Loan Administrator/Loan Processing Manager
Job Summary:
The Central Loan Processor assists multiple Loan Officers bank-wide in all areas of the loan process by gathering required information and preparing required documentation and reports, along with providing personal secretarial and clerical services while maintaining pending loan and departmental files and records.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Processes and coordinates all loans for Loan Officers at all locations in a timely manner. Closes loans as needed.
  • Orders credit reports, appraisals, real estate evaluations, environmental reports, flood determinations, and any other reports or information as needed.
  • Maintains organized working files for each loan for ease of loan progress review.
  • Reviews loan file and documents for accuracy and corrects any errors prior to closing, while determining causes of errors to prevent recurrence.
  • Communicates effectively and directly with all bank personnel in a professional manner using a good understanding of a variety of business matters and situations.
  • Coordinates scheduling with customers, Bank's Closing Agent, and/or attorney/agent to ensure accuracy and timeliness concerning real estate disclosures, evaluations, closing costs/fees, closing disclosures, and all loan documentation.
  • Prepares correspondence in final form.
  • Writes routine letters and memos.
  • Assists other Loan Processors/Executive Assistants as needed by answering questions, reviewing documentation, software use, and other assistance requested with any other Loan Processing-related tasks.
  • Reads and comprehends the Loan Policy while monitoring for changes or additions that affect loan processing.
  • Performs research in various areas according to the needs of officers or customers with timely follow-up.
  • Maintains working knowledge of all assigned software and policies.
  • Maintains a work area that ensures the safety of all confidential records.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years of banking experience.
  • Experience in processing and closing consumer and commercial loan transactions preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time while working at a computer.
  • Must be able to perceive and interpret auditory and visual information to ensure safety and effective communication with customers, coworkers, and external contacts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
