Job description

Job Summary

The sampler/technician is responsible for obtaining samples of grain from rail cars, trucks and bins using methods prescribed by USDA-FGIS. Correctly identify each sample and return to lab. Assists in laboratory with processing samples. Regular hours are from Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Mandatory days will require you to come on the weekends and possibly do 8+ hours.  

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

-        Assist with loading/unloading trucks.

-        Assist with loading/unloading railcars.

-        May assist with grain handling.

-        Punctual and regular attendance is an essential job function.

-        Seld motivated

-        Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions

-        Great work ethic

-        Must have knowledge of and understand the personnel and safety policies of the company.

Working Conditions

-        Be able to pick up samples close or far distance

-        Working outside for a period

-        Working in any weather condition (rain,snow,hot, etc….)

-        Being able to pick up heavy things

Physical Requirements

-        Can pick up 12 ft probe

-        Can stand for a long period of time

-        Can get on top of railcars

-        Be able to work outside with all weather conditions

-        Can pick up from anything 50+ pounds
