Sanitation Associate
Location: Berkeley, CA
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Overtime and weekend work required as business needs dictate
Position Summary
The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary production facility while following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company policies, and safety standards. This role supports daily operations by performing routine cleaning, maintaining sanitation records, monitoring inventory levels, and assisting other departments as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Work safely and immediately report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries.
  • Notify the QA Manager of equipment or facility damage and repair needs.
  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the facility, including:
    • Production areas
    • Warehouse
    • Offices
    • Restrooms
    • Break rooms
    • Loading dock and bay areas
  • Conduct weekly inventories of chemicals and sanitation supplies.
  • Submit work orders for equipment and facility repairs.
  • Follow sanitation schedules and perform routine facility cleaning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date sanitation records.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Follow and support company policies and procedures.
  • Read, write, and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Assist leads and team members in other departments as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous sanitation, janitorial, warehouse, manufacturing, or food production experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move throughout the facility for extended periods.
  • Ability to remain stationary as required by the job.
  • Ability to occasionally climb stairs and ladders.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and repositioning of the body to complete tasks.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to move pallets weighing up to 1,000 pounds using appropriate equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish sounds and identify colors.
Working Conditions
  • Work is performed both inside and outside of the production facility.
  • Regular exposure to machinery, pallet jacks, ladders, and moving equipment.
  • Exposure to hot, cold, wet, and noisy environments.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.
Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
