Warehouse Loading Associate (Pallet Wrapper/Sequence Loading)

Department: Warehouse Operations

Reports To: Warehouse Manager / Warehouse Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Employment Type: Full-Time - Mornings

Position Summary

The Warehouse Loading Associate is responsible for preparing customer orders for delivery by securely wrapping pallets, verifying shipment accuracy, staging orders, and loading delivery trucks in the proper route sequence. As the final quality checkpoint before deliveries leave the warehouse, this position plays a critical role in protecting product quality, ensuring shipment accuracy, and supporting on-time deliveries to our customers.

Essential Functions

  • Securely wrap completed customer order pallets using stretch wrap in accordance with company standards.
  • Review shipping documentation and verify customer orders prior to loading.
  • Stage and load pallets onto delivery trucks in the correct route sequence to support efficient deliveries.
  • Inspect pallets for stability, product quality, and shipment accuracy before loading.
  • Load delivery trucks safely and efficiently while maintaining proper load organization and product integrity.
  • Communicate inventory discrepancies, damaged product, or loading concerns to warehouse leadership.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe loading area.
  • Operate manual and/or electric pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all food safety, warehouse safety, OSHA regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Remain alert to warehouse traffic, moving equipment, pedestrians, and workplace safety warnings and communications while performing loading and staging activities.
  • Assist with additional warehouse duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Work experience in warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, logistics, or order selecting.
  • Experience securely wrapping pallets, reviewing shipping documentation, and loading or staging pallets in the correct delivery route sequence.
  • Experience loading delivery trucks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating manual and/or electric pallet jacks.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, consistent attendance, and punctuality.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen in accordance with company policy.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship by Brothers Food Service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a refrigerated, freezer, foodservice, grocery, or produce distribution warehouse.
  • Experience using RF scanners, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), or other warehouse technology.
  • Previous forklift experience is preferred but not required.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to shipment accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks while working efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse.
  • Ability to receive, understand, and respond appropriately to work instructions and workplace safety communications, including audible safety warnings.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, twist, reach, and climb as needed.
  • Perform repetitive movements involving the hands, arms, and shoulders.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment, including manual and electric pallet jacks.
  • The physical demands described below are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

This position works primarily on warehouse receiving and shipping docks, as well as refrigerated, freezer, and warehouse storage areas. Employees are routinely exposed to varying temperatures, pedestrian and warehouse traffic, moving powered industrial equipment, pallet jacks, loading and unloading activities, and moderate to high noise levels. Existing workplace safety practices include audible warnings and communication, including equipment horns and verbal safety warnings, particularly in areas with moving equipment and warehouse traffic. Employees must remain alert to surrounding equipment, pedestrian traffic, and workplace safety communications. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required based on operational needs.

Schedule Expectations

  • Early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime may be required based on business needs.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to successful job performance.
