Job description

Purpose/Scope:

The overall purpose of this position is to use a pallet jack to load designated products systematically onto trailers and/or unload trailers from suppliers as designated by the supervisor or manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

In an accurate and timely manner, using a pallet jack, systematically load and unload trailers on an as-needed basis according to loading/unloading standards.

Accurately complete all paperwork to back up manifest and/or receivers to track finished product to and from customers in a cost-effective manner.

Effectively operate handheld bar scanning equipment to tally case counts of loaded or unloaded product for tracking purposes.

Must physically count and check scanned information against actual to ensure inventories.

Must use safety equipment that is provided by the company, such as dock locks, wheel chocks, and glad hand locks, to prevent anyone from getting seriously injured.

Adheres to all safety requirements, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management related matters.

Maintains a clean and safe working environment

Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

SPOT TRUCK:

Moves trailers in and out of the shipping dock area for unloading and loading product.

Moves trailers around facility grounds for storage.

Ensures the correct trailers are retrieved in the designated order for processing.

Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns

Ensures poultry is maintained and in compliance with all USDA, Animal Welfare, and company regulations

Keeps a clean and organized spot truck.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
