ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize Construction is looking for a Seasonal Loader Operator to join our team in Edmonton, AB. The Loader Operator will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and upkeep of front-end wheel loaders, assisting with daily plant operations and ensuring safe, high-quality production processes. The role involves physical labor, including heavy lifting, and requires the operator to work efficiently both independently and within a team.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Assist the plant operator with daily plant operations, upkeep, and maintenance tasks.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment as directed by the plant foreman or lead hand.
  • Operate a front-end wheel loader, ensuring safety, efficiency, and maintenance of the machinery.
  • Monitor material production, ensuring it meets specifications and ensures consistent feed to maintain a quality product.
  • Complete daily equipment checklists and ensure accurate weight monitoring.
  • Create an atmosphere of teamwork, seeking and implementing Best Practices for the plant's operations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
  • Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
Required Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience operating a front-end loader in a high-production environment.
Required Technical Skills: Mechanically inclined with the ability to operate and maintain loaders and read survey markings.
Travel Requirements: Frequent travel between job sites within the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas

Additional Requirements:

  • Able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and shifts, including Saturdays.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the loader, including washing, greasing, refueling, oil changes, and maintaining fluid levels.
  • Adhere to environmental safety practices, including spill containment and proper reporting.
  • Assist the plant operator with the daily operations and upkeep of the plant.
  • Assist with various job operations, ensuring safety and efficiency on-site.
  • Monitor and ensure material production stays within specifications.
  • Ensure consistent feed to maintain product quality.
  • Complete equipment checklists, monitor weight accuracy, and maintain service records for equipment.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
