Loader Operator - Full Time

BENEFITS

Competitive Wages: $26.93 - $31.84 per/hr

Company provided: PPE, coveralls and rain gear

Overtime available

Shift: Monday - Friday 8 hours/day - Must have the ability to work staggered shift schedule as per Collective Bargaining Agreement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Moving stock between plant and the shipping yard
  • Loading and offloading trucks
  • Communicating with the truck drivers and making sure all loads are loaded safely
  • Completing receiving paperwork
  • Housekeeping and restocking the stock
  • Picking and packing the orders by using DSI scanner
  • Completing all orders including piecework
  • Completing any tasks requested by Supervisor or Lead Hand
  • Following all safety rules
  • Completing all required trainings

COMPETENCIES/ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Safety centered
  • Fluent in English - speaking, reading and writing
  • Strong attention to details, organized and being focused on the task at hand is extremely important
  • Must be an employee in good standing for attendance and performance
  • Communicate in a professional manner and have strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude, team oriented and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently under the pressure
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Ability to pick and pack the orders
  • Ability to use DSI scanner and complete all orders via DSI
  • Ability to operate all forklift sizes in the shipping department
  • Ability to complete all receiving documents
  • Forklift certified and maintain a valid BC driver's license
  • Experience as a Shipping Loader Operator at Westlake Pipe & Fittings or equivalent
  • Demonstrated a good working knowledge of safe and efficient truck-loading procedures is an asset
  • Good knowledge of various pipe and fittings SKUs with regard to the yard/warehouse locations is an asset
  • Must have the ability to work staggered shift schedule as per Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Basic knowledge of computer skills
  • Ability to follow instructions as directed by Supervisor
  • Results Driven
  • The ability to work under all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
