Job description

Loader Operator 

LOCATION: Fort St. John - British Columbia  - Canada 

DEPARTMENT:  SUPPLY CHAIN 

HR CONTACT: GILL SONIA

Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Loader Operator to support our shipping and receiving operations. In this role, you will operate heavy equipment, including a front-end loader and Pettibone, to safely move and manage tubular products and accessories. You will also be responsible for completing inventory tracking using RFID and the Yard Management System (YMS).

This position plays a critical role in ensuring materials are handled efficiently and accurately, while maintaining full compliance with all safety standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.

Please note: Tenaris requires employees to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and fit test for this position as it is a safety sensitive position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day yard activities upon completion of training, including supporting Yard Technicians
  • Perform daily safety inspections and preventative maintenance checks on equipment
  • Safely load, unload, and transport tubular products and accessories for shipment
  • Consistently comply with all safety policies and protocols in the execution of daily responsibilities.
  • Prepare loads for third-party transportation with accuracy and care
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy and tracking each physical movement using handheld devices/tablets to scan and track inventory accurately
  • Clean and maintain heavy equipment as required
  • Ensure equipment is properly secured and stored when not in use
  • Participate in routine equipment and yard maintenance
  • Support seasonal yard upkeep (winter, spring, summer, and fall readiness)
  • Perform additional duties as required to support operations

 

Qualifications

  • Loader/Operator certification (or willingness to obtain after hire)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in shipping and receiving
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a wheel loader with grapples, preferably handling OCTG materials
  • Experience with Pettibone equipment and/or front-end loaders is strongly preferred
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies and systems
  • Forklift certification is an asset (training available after hire)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License required
  • SAP experience is considered an asset
