Job description

Job Summary:

The Rail Unloader/ Loader will assist production and the warehouse in running efficiently.  They will be responsible for receiving, loading, and unloading bulk flour from the railroads and depositing them in a timely manner.

Essential Functions:

  • Receive paperwork on the incoming product from the Truck Driver.
  • Break seal and take sample to lab for product verification. 
  • Hook the truck up properly to unload product.
  • Product is unloaded through the sifter house into the silo.
  • Verify the truck is unloaded properly into the correct silo.
  • Completes and maintains paperwork as needed.
  • Follows safety & sanitation rules.
  • Keeps area and sifter house clean.
  • Help clean the silos as needed.
  • Responsible for keeping the production areas from running out of flour and competing paperwork at shift change.
  • Employee will be responsible for receiving and unloading bulk flour from rail cars and bulk trucks.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 6+ months experience in a food production/ food manufacturing environment.
  • Job requires constant standing, lifting, and moving product a majority of the day.
  • Employee must be able to move and hook up hoses.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevated heights.
  • Minimal computer and math skills required.
  • Must not have an aversion to heights.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to consistently lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Willing to work 12 hours shift and weekends.

Work Environment:

  • The job is performed in the production area where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
