Job description

Loader Operator II

Loader Operator II operates straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor type vehicle equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, or chutes, and to load trucks or railcars to help meet company objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Operate loader and move levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into bulk materials.
  • Move levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
  • Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires.
  • Inspect the lifts before usage.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED Required.

  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Minimum 3 yrs. experience operating similar equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.).
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred
  • Forklift experience - Preferred
  • Computer Software - Preferred
  • Warehouse experience - Preferred
