Job description

The Program Manager owns the successful strategy execution, coordination, and delivery of a portfolio of related projects for enterprise-level clients and is focused on achieving key business outcomes. The Program Manager develops the plan and direction, aligns cross-functional workstreams, and ensures that the combined output delivers measurable customer and business value.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Mapping
  • Define and maintain the overall program structure, vision, and multi-quarter roadmap.
  • Translate business objectives into program goals, success criteria, and measurable outcomes.
  • Prioritize and sequence workstreams based on strategic impact, dependencies, and resource constraints.
Cross-Workstream Collaboration
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams (e.g., Strategic Consulting, AI scenario development, LMS implementation, content development, integrations, change management).
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives, timelines, and delivery execution across all projects.
  • Manage interdependencies across projects and teams to prevent siloed decision-making and delivery conflicts.
Governance & Decision-Making
  • Establish and enforce consistent governance across all projects (standards, processes, reporting, escalation paths).
  • Drive program-level decision-making and elevate issues that impact scope, timeline, budget, or strategic alignment.
  • Facilitate cross-functional forums (steering committees, working groups) to resolve conflicts and align priorities.
Risk, Dependency & Issue Management
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate cross-project risks and issues that could derail program outcomes.
  • Maintain a living risk register and dependency map, with clear ownership and mitigation plans.
  • Proactively surface and resolve blockers that span multiple teams or systems.
Stakeholder & Executive Communication
  • Provide program-level reporting to executives and stakeholders (status, risks, decisions needed, value tracking).
  • Tailor communication to audience: tactical updates for delivery teams, strategic narratives for leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across functions (Product, Engineering, L&D, HR, Customer Success, etc.).
Value Realization & Continuous Improvement
  • Align program outcomes with customer success and business value realization (adoption, efficiency gains, revenue impact, etc.).
  • Define and track value realization metrics post-delivery to ensure benefits are achieved.
  • Continuously improve program processes, templates, and tools based on lessons learned and feedback.
Key Skills
  • Thrives in ambiguity.
  • Able to influence without authority, and has a track record of turning complex, multi-team initiatives into coherent, executable plans.
  • Thinks strategically and systemically and can connect day-to-day work to long-term business goals, see interdependencies and optimize the whole, not just individual projects.
  • Operates as a servant leader, removes blockers, empowers teams, and fosters psychological safety.
  • Is decisive in uncertainty and comfortable making recommendations with incomplete information.
  • Uses metrics to drive data-informed decisions, not just status reporting.
Required
  • 7+ years of experience in program/project management, with at least 3+ years managing multi-project programs in a SaaS, tech, or professional services environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs (e.g., platform implementations, product launches, enterprise transformations).
  • Strong understanding of program management frameworks (e.g., PMI, Agile/SAFe, hybrid models) and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet).
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically while staying grounded in execution details.
Preferred
  • Experience in Learning & Development, HR Tech, or AI technology(e.g., LMS implementations, content platforms).
  • Pharma sales enablement project management and/or program management experience
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification; Agile/SAFe credentials a plus.
  • Background in change management, organizational design, or process improvement.
  • Experience working in small to mid-sized companies (50–200 employees) where roles are demanding, fluid, and impact is high

Unboxed team members benefit from our comprehensive compensation and rewards program which includes:

  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Ample paid time off
  • Dynamic and convenient office location – unlimited snacks, casual dress code, covered parking and gym on site
  • Open communication and a commitment to fostering teamwork across the organization

Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000 annually
