Part-Time Show Host TSC (The Shopping Channel)


Who we're looking for:

TSC, Canada's only home shopping network, is looking for a personable, enthusiastic On-Air Host that will further our customer's fun and fantastic shopping experience. As an On-Air Show Host with The Shopping Channel you will become the face of our brand. You will use your training, extensive product/market research, live television
background and passion for the retail experience to build the stories that will engage ourcustomers. Your ultimate goal is to drive demand sales, customer retention and new customer acquisition.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare for every hour using all available tools - Script and given content, Pre-Show meetings with buyer, vendor and guest. 
  • Present all product offers on-air in a thoughtful, compelling and exciting manner.
  • Ensure to portray an accurate representation of the product by leveraging Key Selling Points.
  • Research and present all corporate concepts as they are defined and scripted. All presentations must include a call to action.
  • Meet or exceed all demand and net sales targets.
  • Submit weekly reports on reasons for variances, performance and execution.
  • Participate in all training activities as outlined by the Production Manager. These may include (but aren't limited to): Show and Performance Reviews, Skills Review
    and Coaching, Product Training, Market research, Industry seminars and/or Accreditation, Vendor visits (Please note that some of these activities may require
    travel).
  • Take part in all internal and external social media and marketing activities as outlined. (Please note that some of these activities may require travel).
  • Build and support a TSC Brand on Social Media
  • Be available to commit to set-out schedule as well as cover other shifts as
    required.
  • This position requires shift work outside of normal 9-5 business hours. All On-Air Show Hosts must be available to work hours as dictated by the schedule.

  • Has Hosting experience on television, digital platforms, or live broadcasts.
  • Is a Masterful Storyteller with a passion for shopping. Portraying credibility with all product knowledge authentically and confidently.
  • Can provide compelling relatable narratives throughout presentation while describing all features and benefits.
  • Can present enthusiastically to engage and entertain audience with an inspiring,genuine, friendly and relatable personality. Use personal experience to connect
    with your audience.
  • Can think quick and improvise as needed. This is Live TV!
  • Is proficient across all multimedia - Linear Broadcast, live streaming and digital platforms.
  • Has a built relationship and trust with audiences across all platforms.
  • Has proven success in developing and maintaining a following on social media.
  • The ideal candidate will actively also curate a brand on social media that supports TSC.

  • Project a professional, confident, trustworthy image, but don't be afraid to have fun. Watch your body language. Don't slouch - smile and be positive. Be yourself
    and be comfortable. We are looking for real and relatable.
