Job description

The Streaming Support Specialist role is responsible for delivering high quality live audio and video streaming support for collegiate athletic events, working closely with athletic department staff, production teams, internal streaming specialists, and end users. This position is part of our streaming services team with a specific schedule that allows us to provide industry-leading service to our clients during the unique hours of college athletics monitoring live streams to troubleshoot issues in real time, train clients on streaming tools, and ensure a positive viewing experience for fans.
They collaborate daily with internal SIDEARM teams and serve as a primary point of contact during live events. As such, this will include working evenings and weekends during the athletic calendar (August through May)
to fulfill the needs of our clients and fans.
This position will be afternoons and evenings, ideally in the 3 PM to 11 PM shift.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture client relationships.
  • Monitor and communicate with SIDEARM partners regarding the quality of live streams.
  • Train clients on audio/video streaming area of the SIDEARM CMS.
  • Assist clients with troubleshooting and fixing streaming issues.
  • Provide end-user support to fans who have difficulty viewing live-streamed content.
  • Troubleshoot fan subscription issues for client schools.
  • Assist with the oversight of SIDEARM Streaming staff.
  • Contribute to the overall success of SIDEARM Sports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience in video production and/or live streaming.
  • Strong client service skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
  • Team oriented mindset with the ability to lead, support peers, and take accountability for outcomes
  • Technical aptitude with live streaming tools and workflows with basic understanding of streaming software and hardware encoders.
  • Working knowledge of video and audio codecs, frame rates, resolutions, and bitrates.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues quickly in fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive, customer focused attitude
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non technical users
  • Comfortable using web-based tools, new technology, and software platforms
  • Willingness and availability to work evenings and weekends during the athletic season
  • Strong attention to detail, especially when monitoring live events and stream quality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in live sports streaming
  • Experience with EOBS, Production Truck, Tricaster, SlingStudio, Wirecast and Blackmagic capture devices.
