SkyCam® is a leading designer, manufacturer and operator of mobile aerial cameras systems. SkyCam® plays a significant role in changing the way live sporting events are broadcast, including NFL, NBA, NHL, etc.

Nature of Work:

Under general supervision, the main duty of the SkyCam Pilot is to ensure the safe and effective operation of the SkyCam system through sound processes and operations and effective communication between the Technical Operations manager and Sky-NOC.

Examples of work performed:

  • Acts as on-site manager for flight equipment and crew at an event.
  • Follow and Operate the SkyCam system within the safe protocols and procedures established.
  • Interfaces directly with the client, EIC, and Technical Operations Manager to ensure safe and proper installation.
  • Capable of flying and orienting and positioning SkyCam system for camera operators live events
  • Familiar with the operation of all necessary tools and the various pieces and parts to assemble and rig the system.
  • Works under the direction of the NOC amp; Technical Operations Manager regarding the deployment of the system and the maintenance and repair of the systems.
  • Communicates all technical needs and irregular operations to the onsite EIC, NOC and TOM
  • Provides final report on all live events.
  • Documents all deployments as required
  • Attends Camera meetings and represents safe capabilities
  • Sets up and confirms NOC communication
  • While on client job sites, responsibilities include, but not limited to:
    1. Equipment setup and operation.
    2. Interfacing with client and venue personnel.
    3. Safe operation of equipment (weather, equipment breakdowns, etc.).
    4. Complete Tech report for each job.
    5. Report and directly communicate all equipment issues and recommendations to the CTO.
    6. Provide updates to site surveys as needed.
  • Ensure all safety schedules and protocols are flowed including Pre-Flight, NOC, and flight parameters

Working Conditions amp; Physical Demands:

  • The noise in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Extensive domestic and international travel; must possess or able to obtain US Passport.
  • Extremely high stress environment, fast-paced with multi-level distractions.
  • Ability to work extended hours; nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Valid Driver’s License as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum
    1. High school diploma required High School or GED
    2. one (1) year of progressively responsible experience in aircraft operation and control, drone operation and control, and/or a strong background preferably in media, broadcasting, technical, IT, engineering, or production industry. Proficient in the use of MS Windows and an understanding of basic electronics and networking is a must.
    3. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Preferred
    1. FAA Private pilots (PPL), or FAA 107 license strongly encouraged to apply
    2. Bachelor’s degree preferred (AS or Technical School acceptable).
