Job description

Job Summary

The General Manager of Devils Backbone Basecamp is responsible for the overall performance, guest experience, and day‑to‑day leadership of the brewery’s flagship campus. This role provides strategic and operational oversight for all guest‑facing programs, including restaurant operations, retail, private events, and recurring programming. Reporting to the Director of Hospitality, the GM is accountable for financial performance, team development, operational excellence, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000, bonus eligible

Shift: Tuesday - Saturday

Responsibilities
  • Lead all guest‑facing operations, ensuring exceptional service, consistent execution, and operational excellence.
  • Recruit, coach, and develop managers and hourly team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and hospitality.
  • Establish operating standards and monitor staff performance.
  • Serve as the primary operational leader for the Basecamp campus.
  • Own the financial performance of restaurant, retail, and private event operations.
  • Manage multiple departmental P&Ls, labor performance, inventory controls, and operating expenses to achieve financial objectives.
  • Analyze business trends to help identify opportunities for growth and profitability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, restaurants, breweries, hotels, resorts, or destination venues, including multi‑department management.
  • Demonstrated success managing high‑volume hospitality operations with responsibility for multiple revenue centers and departmental P&Ls.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience budgeting, forecasting, labor management, inventory controls, and interpreting key business metrics.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, coach, and retain high‑performing management and hourly teams.
  • Experience planning and executing private events, live entertainment, or destination programming preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with the ability to analyze business performance, build reports, and communicate effectively across departments.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Toast POS and 7shifts scheduling software.
