Respiratory Therapist Opportunity at Optigen

Optigen services the Active, Retired and Family members of both active duty and retired. We are inspired by a vision to enable patients with sleep disordered breathing conditions to remain engaged in life, with the peace of mind we are caring for them.

As a part of our continued success, we are currently seeking a Respiratory Therapist. In this position, you will be responsible for setting up PAP equipment, providing patient education according to the patient's needs. This will involve teaching, advising, and cleaning to ensure appropriate functioning of our equipment in home and as patient needs arise.

Respiratory Therapist must live in the greater Salinas / Monterey CA area and willing to travel to patients homes for in-home CPAP setups.

Earn extra income and make your own hours. This is a 1099 contracted position.

We are looking for an experienced Respiratory Therapist who combines exceptional human relations skills to interface with our clients and a wide variety of customers. You should display excellent verbal, communication, and people skills. In addition, it is also vital that you demonstrate commitment to provide exceptional service to our clients as well as the ability to work on an independent basis with minimal supervision.

Other requirements include:

  • Familiarity with CPAP and BiLevel equipment and services provided in the home
  • Familiarity with CPAP masks and be able to assess type and size for client
  • Ability to establish relationship with client and educate on proper use and care of equipment
  • Minimum of two years' experience in home CPAP / BiLevel setups.
  • Willingness to use personal vehicle for business with valid driver's license and clean record
  • Be available evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the patient
  • Current State Respiratory Therapy License in good standing
  • Have a working computer, printer, and scanner to obtain and print orders

Physical demands:

  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
