40 hours per week, plus weekend shifts and on-call
Compensation Range (includes salary, taxable apartment benefit & shift premium):
$42,000 - $ 61,000

Overview

As a Superintendent at Homestead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and operation of the building, including maintaining clean and safe common areas, completing minor maintenance and work orders, supporting tenant relations, and ensuring a welcoming, well-managed environment for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities:

Cleaning/Maintenance

  • Ensure cleanliness of common areas & corridors
  • Prepare apartments for new residents
  • Facilitate work orders and perform minor maintenance in plumbing & electrical
  • Other grounds maintenance

Tenant Relations/Administrative

  • Address tenant concerns effectively and promptly
  • Maintain positive relations with tenants
  • Show vacant apartments to prospective residents
  • Collect and record incoming rents
  • Serve legal documents as needed
  • Rent upcoming suites and complete required documentation

Safety

  • Ensure resident safety and security at all times
  • Respond appropriately and professionally to emergencies
  • Maintain fire safety logs and winter logs

General

  • Follow an ‘on-call’ schedule
  • Maintain accurate stock control records
  • Other duties as assigned by the Property Manager

Qualifications:

  • Previous maintenance/cleaning experience preferred
  • Obtain a valid First Aid certification, paid for by the Company
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kg (e.g., trash bags, cleaning equipment)
  • Reliability, attention to detail, and safe work practices are essential
