Job description

We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.

SUMMARY: The purpose of a live hanger is to discern between live and dead chickens and hang the live ones on moving shackles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Be able to work in a fast paced setting hanging a live chicken weighing 2-5 pounds, on every 5th shackle
  • Adhere to all George's policies & procedures and all animal welfare laws & regulations.
  • Must be able to stand for several hours at a time
  • Must be able to work in a dimly lighted work area shoulder to shoulder with other employees
  • Must be able to grasp a chicken at approximately waist level and hang a live chicken on a shackle at shoulder height
  • Must be able to discern a live chicken from a dead chicken


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
