Job description

Cheeseman Transport is hiring CDL A regional dry van drivers in Channahon, IL. Drivers will be delivering forklifts, tow motors and their parts in 53ft dry van trailers in the eastern half of the US. Compensation

  • Average gross weekly pay: $1,800
  • Pay based on miles and stops
    • Paid practical miles, paid for all miles loaded or empty
    • Stop pay: $15- $33per stop
    • Securing pay: $1 per 1000 pounds secured

Home Time, Route, & Schedule

  • Home Time: Home weekends for 34 hour reset
  • Schedule: 5-6 days out
    • Typically leave out on Sunday or Monday, come back Friday or Saturday
  • Route: Delivering anywhere within a 550 mile radius of Channahon, IL
  • Level of Touch: No loading or unloading, must secure freight with wooden blocks and nail gun

Qualifications

  • Must have hazmat & tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain within 60 days of employment
  • No felony in the past 7 years
  • No alcohol related offense in the past 5 years
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations
  • Must be able to pass a required pre-employment drug screen
